I’m enjoying noticing the little things. So I’ve written a poem about something that so many of us take for granted and never think about.
Hi my name is pen clip
My favorite move is the grip.
Instantly I stop the pen from rolling
Off the table and save it from breaking.
In the pocket, I’m the seat belt
I hold on soft so it can’t be felt.
I speak in tic tic tickey tic
No no, it’s not a trick.
I point true north
Guess what I’m worth?
Can’t buy me with money
No not even Mr. Romney.
My value lies to who I belong
So I’m going home, singing my song.
Tic tic tic, tickey tic
No no no, it’s not a trick.
