A Milestone (Why I Write #4)

This is my 100th blog post! Congratulations Sam Suh. What a milestone?!

I just want to remind myself why I write by taking this little paragraph from The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

The real heroes aren’t the people doing things; the real heroes are the people noticing things, paying attention. The guy who invented the smallpox vaccine didn’t actually invent anything. He just noticed that people with cowpox didn’t get smallpox.”

Writing helps me to notice the unnoticed. It pushes me to pay attention to the minute details of life which I would miss. Writing helps me to focus on a single topic, an idea or a person. Last but not least, writing is act of communicating between my mind and heart.

And maybe someday, I’ll become a hero too. So I’ll keep writing til death do us apart.
